Commissions usually begin with a favourite scene or treasured memory, with the process involving the use of reference photographs or sketches, and the client’s input on desired mood and colour palette.

I use a knife to create paintings bursting with light and energy, conveying a real sense of “being there”. The paintings make wonderful birthday, anniversary or Christmas presents.

They can be created in any size or format, including diptychs or triptychs, representational or abstract, on canvas or board, framed or unframed. Some are landscapes or portraits (of people, pets or properties); others are of family groups within a familiar and much-loved setting (my favourite!).
